Shrub; 9 dm tall; one senescent inflorescence; abaxial leaf surface
pale green & glossy, adaxial surface medium green, veins yellow; 4
suckering stems ~i cm diameter; purple; habit appears crushed,
perhaps by winter snow; associate species Pyrola americana,
Kalmia latifolia, Amelanchier canadensis, Quercus velutina,
Deschampsia flexuosa, Viola sagittata, Epigaea repens and
Vaccinium angustifolium. Very rare.
*Note-This i^Pie only individual observed by collector in Montauk
which was discovered and made known by Allison Harrington.
