Biennial herb; petals white; roots white; stem and leaves pale green; growing in association with Carex atlantica ssp. atlantica, C. laevivaginata, Osmunda cinnamomea, Onoclea sensibilis, Dryopteris carthusiana, Viola cuculiata, V. pattens, Ludwigia palustris, Mikania scandens, Symplocarpus foetidus, Juncus effusus and Arisaema triphyllum.
