Flora of Montauk Suffolk Co., New York CISTACEAE Lechea intermedia Legg. Ex Britton United States of America. New York: Suffolk County. East Hampton Township, hamlet of Montauk. Hither Hills State Park, in sandy opening off the Split Rock trail near the West Overlook. (4i.oi399°N, 72.00744°W). Perennial herb; abaxial leaf pubescence limited to mid vein; outer two sepals shorter than inner 3; seeds ~5 per capsule, angular, brown, with grayish flaking covering. Growing with Gaylussacia baccata, Euthamia caroliniana, Deschampsia flexuosa, Hypericum gentianoides, Baptisia tinctoria, Cyperus lupulinus, Aristida purpurascens and Arctostaphylos uva-ursi.
