Georeferenced to the point along the road connecting the towns of Arraial d'Ajuda and Trancoso, "Estrada Trancoso", closest to the approximate midpoint between the centers of the two towns, in Mun. Porto Seguro, Bahia. Using Google Maps - Satellite view, located the towns of Arraial d'Ajuda and Trancoso. Beginning at the approximate geographic center of the town of Arraial d'Ajuda (-16.4889501 -39.0740776), used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line to the approximate geographic center of the town of Trancoso (-16.5926419 -39.1035175), then halved that distance to find the location of the approximate geographic midpoint (-16.5407927 -39.0888244). Using Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs, found coordinates for the point along "Estrada Trancoso" closest to this midpoint. Using Distance Measurement Tool again, estimated the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farther center of the two towns (Trancoso). Input coordinates, linear extent (6080.76 m), and measurement error (0.5 km) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to the Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place: Between two places, and Named Place: River, stream, road, path).
