    Sandy, seasonally flooded beach along the south shore of Heart Lake. Juncus arcticus, Juncus triglumis var. albescens, Juncus drummondii, Eriophorum spp., Salix alaxensis, Carex aquatilis var. minor. Forming dense patches in wet soil.

    Rhizomatous. Medial scales ca. 0.9 mm wide, acuminate, base of achene beak ca. 0.08 mm wide (JMS obs. 2015).
