Calamus sp.
lauro paloe
Stems solitary, 4 m long, 2 cm diameter. Sheaths gray-green with black-tipped spines; petioles
3.5 cm long; rachises 75 cm long; pinnae 15 per side of rachis, regularly arranged, spreading in
one plane, with numerous vestigial spinules all over abaxial surface; cirri spines irregularly
arranged. Inflorescences pistillate, 114 cm long, inserted well below sheath apex.
