NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN PALMS OF SULAWESI Indonesia. Sulawesi Tengah: Sigi Regency, Kulawi District, road between Sadaunta and Salua, forest on steep slope, 01°22.802’S, 119°58.625’E, 610 m elevation. 1 October 2017. Calamus sp. lauro paloe Stems solitary, 4 m long, 2 cm diameter. Sheaths gray-green with black-tipped spines; petioles 3.5 cm long; rachises 75 cm long; pinnae 15 per side of rachis, regularly arranged, spreading in one plane, with numerous vestigial spinules all over abaxial surface; cirri spines irregularly arranged. Inflorescences pistillate, 114 cm long, inserted well below sheath apex. A.
