Calamus tadulakoensis Henderson et al.
Stems solitary, 30 m long, 4.2 cm diameter. Sheaths spiny with horizontal, brown spines leaving
clear impression in sheath; ocreas with a few, fine, short hairs; petioles 2 cm long; rachises 2 m
long; proximal pinnae swept back across the sheath, pinnae with a distinct row of short thorns
adaxially on mid-vein, silvery-gray abaxially. Infructescences 245 cm long, inserted below
knees, branched to 2 orders; apex of inflorescence a long, narrow, tubular structure; first partial
inflorescence subtended by prophyll; bracts of partial inflorescences tubular, contracted at base,
green, with few spines; fruits whitish; endosperm homogeneous.
