Stems clustered, 6 m long, 2 cm diameter. Sheaths densely spiny with downward-pointing
spines; ocreas well-developed, open above petiole, with no groove on petiole; petioles 16 cm
long; rachises 204 cm long; pinnae linear, 33 per side of rachis, regularly arranged, with
subterminal ‘broken vein’; cirri spines regularly arranged in clusters. Sterile plant.
