Stems 15 m long, 3 cm diameter Sheaths grayish with short spines; knees without spines;
petioles 13-18 cm long; pinnae 44 per side of rachis, regularly arranged, vestigial at apex of
rachis. Infructescences 91 cm long, pistillate; partial inflorescences subtended by ‘palustris-like’
bracts.
