Stems 25 m long, 4 cm diameter. Sheaths gray-green with many, short, horizontal, green spines;
knees prominent, non-spiny; petioles 18-23 cm long; rachises 223 cm long; pinnae 32 per side of
rachis, linear (‘broken vein’), regularly arranged, pendulous, with 3 rows of spinules adaxially, 1
row abaxially; cirri spines perfectly regular. Inflorescences pistillate, inserted near knee, 140 cm
long; partial inflorescences subtended by ‘palustris-like’ bracts but these very short and
membranous. Endosperm ruminate.
