Calamus sp.
Stems 25 m long, 3.3 cm diameter. Sheaths green with numerous, needle-like, horizontal, brown
spines; knees without spines; ocreas fringed; petioles 21 cm long; rachises 172 cm long; pinnae
44 per side of rachis, regularly arranged and spreading in the same plane, the distal ones reduced
or vestigial; cirri with regularly arranged groups of spines. Inflorescences staminate, inserted
well below knee, 123 cm long, ending in a short stub; rachis bracts ‘palustris-like’.
