Calamus sp.	tongisi
Stems solitary, 50 m long, 5.5 cm diameter. Sheaths densely brown tomentose, with scattered,
stout, solitary, triangular spines; ocreas fringed; petioles 9 cm long; rachises 230 cm long; pinnae
broad, elliptic, 25 per side of rachis, regularly arranged, leathery, without any spinules, with
numerous vestigial spinules all over abaxial surface; proximal pinnae reduced; distal pinnae
reduced and vestigial; cirri spines perfectly regularly arranged. Staminate inflorescence 244 cm
long, branched to 3 orders; rachis bracts ‘palustris-like’.
