NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN PALMS OF SULAWESI NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN liiiflll 03698086 Indonesia. Sulawesi Tengah: Poso Regency, near Wanga, forest on steep slope, 01°29.34rS, 120°19.234’E, 1204 m elevation. 18 November 2017. Calamus sp. tongisi Stems solitary, 50 m long, 5.5 cm diameter. Sheaths densely brown tomentose, with scattered, stout, solitary, triangular spines; ocreas fringed; petioles 9 cm long; rachises 230 cm long; pinnae broad, elliptic, 25 per side of rachis, regularly arranged, leathery, without any spinules, with numerous vestigial spinules all over abaxial surface; proximal pinnae reduced; distal pinnae reduced and vestigial; cirri spines perfectly regularly arranged. Staminate inflorescence 244 cm long, branched to 3 orders; rachis bracts ‘palustris-like’. A.
