Stems scarcely 2 lines high. Leaves dusky olive-gf®®**
rather obtuse, but with a short point, formed, not by tb#
nerve, but by the -pagina of'the leaf.’ Séte flexuose when drf*
Lid conical, with a very short beak. Calyptra dimidiate»
dark-brown above. Teeth of the peristome approached in
pairs. The cilia have escaped observation in the present
specimens. This.speàw\differs,from %	B.-'ef.T«,
bythe shorter stems, the wider leaves, the thicker and shorter
sete, and remarkably by -thè -ibfM.JM
capsule ; besides, the upper half of the caiyptra is blackisb-
brown, while in the European plant it is whitish.
