Calamus sp.
Stems forming small clumps with a few short stems less than 2 m and 2-3 longer stems to 25 m
long. Stems of longer stems are pencil-thin at the base and thicken towards the apex. With
sheaths, short stems are 0.5 cm diameter and longer stems are 1.3-2.7 cm diameter. Both have 6-
7 pinnae per side of the rachis, those of longer stems much broader. Apices of sheaths are
oblique and ocreas have a tuft of spines at the very apex. Inflorescences old, erect, probably
about 1 m long.
