Stems solitary, 12 m long, 1 cm diameter. Sheaths covered with fine, needle-like spines; petioles
10 cm long; rachises 32 cm long; pinnae 5 per side of rachis, regularly but distantly arranged;
distal pinnae vestigial; cirri spines regular. Sterile plant.
