NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN PALMS OF SULAWESI Indonesia. Sulawesi Tengah: Sigi Regency, Lore Lindu National Park, road from Sadaunta to Lake Lindu, forest on steep slope, 01°22.435’S, 120°00.388’E, 1198 m elevation. 12 December 2017. Calamus didymocarpus Warburg ex Beccari Stems solitary, 10 m long, 3 cm diameter. Sheaths mottled white and green, with numerous, scattered, short, triangular, black spines (another plant seen here, at lower elevation, with non- spiny sheaths); ocreas fringed; petioles 13 cm long; rachises 127 cm long; pinnae 22 per side of rachis, regularly arranged, stiff and leathery; distal pinnae not reduced nor vestigial; cirri spines more or less regular. Pistillate inflorescences 249 cm long; fruits white. A. Henderson, Moh.
