NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN PALMS OF SULAWESI Indonesia. Sulawesi Tengah: Poso Regency, road from Tambing Lake to Sedoa, undisturbed forest on steep slope, 01°20.216’S, 120°19.747’E, 1413 m elevation. 16 November 2017. Calamus didymocarpus Warburg ex Beccari pai Stems solitary, 20 m long, 3.5 cm diameter. Sheaths green, mottled, with black, horizontal, triangular spines, but with some vertical lines on sheath without spines; ocreas fringed; petioles 7.5 cm long; rachises 161 cm long; pinnae 30 per side of rachis, regularly but distantly arranged, somewhat leathery, with numerous vestigial spinules abaxially, with minute spinules on mid- vein adaxially; distal pinnae reduced but not vestigial; cirri spines more or less regular but with some solitary spines interspersed. Inflorescences staminate, 210 cm long but apex broken off and certainly longer; rachis bracts strictly tubular. A.
