Calamus didymocarpus Warburg ex Beccari
Stems solitary, 10 m long, 3 cm diameter. Sheaths densely covered with triangular, black spines;
ocreas scarcely developed; petioles 0 cm; rachises 185 cm long; pinnae 36 per side of rachis,
regularly arranged, leathery; distal pinnae reduced; cirri spines more or less regular.
Inflorescences pistillate, ca. 6 m long; rachis bracts tubular; fruits yellowish-white; endosperm
deeply ruminate; embryo basal.
