Sulawesi Utara: Minahassa Regency, road between Kota Mobagu and Tompasobaru, disturbed forest on steep slope near road, 00°51.065’N, 124o26.013,E, 980 m elevation. 19 December 2017. Calamus didymocarpus Warburg ex Beccari Stems solitary, 10 m long, 3 cm diameter. Sheaths densely covered with triangular, black spines; ocreas scarcely developed; petioles 0 cm; rachises 185 cm long; pinnae 36 per side of rachis, regularly arranged, leathery; distal pinnae reduced; cirri spines more or less regular. Inflorescences pistillate, ca. 6 m long; rachis bracts tubular; fruits yellowish-white; endosperm deeply ruminate; embryo basal. A. Henderson & Moh.
