Calamus didymocarpus Warburg ex Beccari lauro pai Stems clustered, 30 m long, 4 cm diameter. Sheaths mottled white and green, with dense, black, horizontal spines; ocreas short, fringed; petioles 13 cm long; rachises 138 cm long; pinnae 25 per side of rachis, leathery, with numerous vestigial spinules all over abaxial surface, regularly arranged, with spinules on midveins adaxially; distal pinnae reduced and vestigial; cirri spines irregular. Inflorescences pistillate, 467 cm long, pendulous; rachis bracts strictly tubular; fruits globose, white A.
