NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN PALMS OF SULAWESI Indonesia. Sulawesi Tengah: Poso Regency, Tambing Lake, Lore Lindu National Park, relatively undisturbed forest near lake, 01°19.578’S, 120°18.609’E, 1580 m elevation. 25 October 2017. Calamus didymocarpus Warburg ex Beccari tomoni Stems clustered, 25 m long, 3 cm diameter. Sheaths green with dense, black, horizontal, flat spines; ocreas scarcely developed, fringed; petioles absent; rachises 146 cm long; pinnae 27 per side of rachis, regularly arranged, leathery, with numerous vestigial spinules abaxially; proximal pinnae much reduced and swept back across the sheath, distal pinnae much reduced; cirri spines irregular or almost regular. Inflorescences staminate, inserted well below the knees, 190 cm long, terminating in a 40 cm long, straight ‘flagellum’; rachis bracts tubular (but seem ‘palustris type’). A.
