NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN PALMS OF SULAWESI Indonesia. Sulawesi Tengah: Poso Regency, Tambing Lake, Lore Lindu National Park, relatively undisturbed forest near lake, 01°19.503’S, 120°18.510’E, 1648 m elevation. 18 October 2017. Calamus didymocarpus Warburg ex Beccari lauro pai A. Henderson, Ramadhanil Pitopang & Sahlan 4275 Fieldwork carried out in collaboration with Tadulako University and funded by a Fulbright Scholar Award. Stems clustered, 20 m long, 3.5 cm diameter. Sheaths green with flat, black spines; knees not spiny; petioles absent or 1 cm long; rachises 162 cm long; pinnae 28 per side of rachis, regularly arranged, leathery, with vestigial spinules abaxially, proximal pinnae much reduced, swept back across the sheath; cirri spines irregular. Staminate inflorescence 200 cm long, not flagellate, terminating in a short stub; rachis bracts tubular.
