Stems clustered, 20 m long, 3.5 cm diameter. Sheaths green with flat, black spines; knees not
spiny; petioles absent or 1 cm long; rachises 162 cm long; pinnae 28 per side of rachis, regularly
arranged, leathery, with vestigial spinules abaxially, proximal pinnae much reduced, swept back
across the sheath; cirri spines irregular. Staminate inflorescence 200 cm long, not flagellate,
terminating in a short stub; rachis bracts tubular.
