Calamus didymocarpus Warburg ex Beccari
Stems solitary, 30 m long, 5.5 cm diameter. Sheaths green with numerous, short, triangular,
black spines; ocreas very short, fringed; petioles absent; rachises 173 cm long; pinnae 36 per side
of rachis, regularly arranged, somewhat leathery, apparently not vestigially spinulose abaxially,
both proximal and distal pinnae reduced; cirri spines almost regularly arranged but appearing
slightly irregular. Inflorescences staminate, elongate, 397 cm long, branched to 3 orders; rachis
bracts strictly tubular.
