NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN PALMS OF SULAWESI Indonesia. Sulawesi Tengah: Parigi-Moutong Regency, road from Ogomolos to Basidondo, disturbed forest on steep slope, 00°34.984’N, 120°41.826’E, 716 m elevation. 27 October 2017. Calamus didymocarpus Warburg ex Beccari Stems solitary, 30 m long, 5.5 cm diameter. Sheaths green with numerous, short, triangular, black spines; ocreas very short, fringed; petioles absent; rachises 173 cm long; pinnae 36 per side of rachis, regularly arranged, somewhat leathery, apparently not vestigially spinulose abaxially, both proximal and distal pinnae reduced; cirri spines almost regularly arranged but appearing slightly irregular. Inflorescences staminate, elongate, 397 cm long, branched to 3 orders; rachis bracts strictly tubular. A. Henderson, Moh.
