NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN A. Henderson, Sahlan & Jimmy Golo 4281 PALMS OF SULAWESI Indonesia. Sulawesi Tengah: Poso Regency, road from Tentena to Petiro, Didiri, undisturbed forest, 01°47.655’S, 120°45.774’E, 927 m elevation. 20 October 2017. Calamus sp. Stems solitary, 6 m long, 2 cm diameter. Sheaths green with brown tomentum, with straight, black, flat spines; ocreas scarcely developed; petioles 18 cm long; rachises 186 cm long; pinnae 10 per side of rachis, broad, elliptic, distantly but regularly arranged, without any spinules, with numerous vestigial spinules all over abaxial surface. Sterile plant. Fieldwork carried out in collaboration with Tadulako University and funded by a Fulbright Scholar Award. 03698007
