NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN PALMS OF SULAWESI Indonesia. Sulawesi Tengah: Poso Regency, road from Tentena to Bada, undisturbed forest on steep slopes, 01°47.837’S, 120°29.635’E, 1127m elevation. 22 October 2017. Calamus sp. Stems 10 m long, 1.5 cm diameter. Sheaths densely spiny with horizontal, needle-like spines; petioles 8 cm long; rachises 98 cm long; pinnae 9 per side of rachis, in alternate pairs, elliptic, without spinules, with numerous vestigial spinules all over abaxial surface, the apical pair opposite, not vestigial; cirri spines more or less regular.
