bank of the Hudson River, about 0.1 mile north of
Route 1-84 (Newburgh-Beacon) bridge. East of
Metro-North Railroad tracks. Elevation 100-140 feet.
Upland slopes, humus over gneissic boulders and
outcrops.
Mesic upland forest, very degraded, dominated by
Acer platanoides, Vitis, Quercus spp., Ulmus, upslope
from river. Rather common low annual - biennial herb
with magenta-pink flowers, shaded moist banks
alongside trail, mostly in shade.
