    Very flat grassland. With scattered shrubs and short tortuous trees, natural savanna, grazed. With fine black silty soil, evidence of fires large termite mounds.

    Aquatic, in flooded area. Leaves floating, green above, purple beneath. Flowers erect, in air; petals frilly, yellow, quickly wilting. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
