Elevation 2670-2720 feet. Margins of wash with
boulders of metamorphic, granitic gneiss, schist
substrate, well-drained sand, gravel.

Margin of chaparral, shrubland, in creek wash.
Dominants: Eriogonumfasciculatum, Platanus
racemosa, Lupinus spp., Eriodictyum trichocalyx.
Common annual herb, flowers pale magenta-pink with
darker stripes on petals, leaves mostly basal, erect,
stems prostrate, fruits erect; size of plant extremely
variable.
