Gulf County: Lower slope seepage herb bog (poor fen), on E side of
Wetappo Creek, ca 5 air mi S of FL 22 bridge over Wetappo Creek, ca
6 air mi SW of Wewahitchka; WH, SEQ, Sec. 36, T4S, R11W; Wetappo
Creek 7.5' Quad.; 30°05'19" N, 85®17'47" W; Elev. 20-26 ft. Soils -
Pelham (Arenic Paleaquults). Common in mucky coarse sand over a
gray sandy clay subsoil, with a surface soil-water matrix pH ranging
from 4.6 to 5.7, in areas dominated by Rhynchospora macra, R.
stenophylla, Panicum nudicaule, Eriocaulon compressum, Pieea
tenuifoHa, and Sarracenia psittacina. Other associates include Aristida
palustris, A. stricta, Balduina uniflora, Bigelowia nudata, Chaptalia
tomentosa, Cliftonia monophylla, Drosera capillaris, D. tracyi,
Eriocaulon decangulare, Helenium vernale, Hypericum brachyphyHum,
Myrica heterophylla, Nyssa ursina, Pinguicula planifolia. Sarracenia
flava, Scleria baldwinii, Syngonanthus flavidulus, Utricularia subulata,
Xyris baldwiniana, and X. ambigua. Published in Phytologia 74:104-
