On top of black water in small pool on floodplain
along the Savannah River; alluvial forest. Site
#16 (Lat. 3b°06'56"; Long. 82°40'07"), about 3.5
miles north of the Ga. 72 bridge over the Savannah
River. Below the 475-ft. contour (full pool for
proposed Russell Lake). Area to be impounded
in the mid-1980fs by Army Corps of Engineers.
