    Mid elevation pine-oak forest. Quercus oleoides, possibly Pinus caribaea. Scattered. On soil.

  • Description

    Pileus 5-7 cm broad, depressed to deeply depressed, subglutinous to viscid, subzonate at first, (5A6,5) then (4A5,4); flesh white to yellowish white (4A2), exuding a white latex that almost immediately changes to bright yellow, with mild odor and a slowly almost imperceptible subacrid taste. Lamellae adnate to subdecurrent, subdistant, white to yellowish white (4A2), exuding white then yellow latex when cut, eventually developing brown stains. Stipe 2.5-4 cm long, 1.5-2 cm broad, dry, scrobiculate, white at first then (5A5) with age, the scrobiculae (5A5); interior soon hollow, white, exuding white then yellow latex.
