River on s.e. side - separated from mile long Rand-
on n.w, side by road-bearing dike 8-10» high.
Eschscholtzia scattered along crest of dike on n.w.
side above pond at its n.e. end - and only here.
Plants quite large with vigorous roots; fls. large
and yellow rather than orange. Pressed late in aftpi-
noon.
