Stems erect, 5-7 dm. tall, 1-3 from the base; biennial, possibly persisting; tap root deep; flowers white, 9-11 cm. broad; filaments yellow; anthers bright yellow; buds sparingly prickly, the body 10-15 mm. broad, 15-20 mm. long; sap bright yellow.
