Filaments-existing within the rock as far at least as 10—15 mm, 9.6—16
mik. in diameter; sheath cylindrical, rough, for the most part hyaline
and not lamellose, at other times brownish and much lamellated; trich-
omes pale aeruginous, one to many in a sheath, not constricted at the
joints, 3.5—4.8 mik. in diameter; articulations 1—1.5 times as long as
w{de, 5—8 mik. long; dissepiments for the most part invisible; apical
cell truncate conical.
Bare and dry sandstone cliffs.
Soldiers’ Home, Minnehaha Falls, Minnesota.
