bank/terrace of the Rock River along the east side of
Illinois Route 2, opposite an iron-gated stone entrance
and pull-off, 0.8 kilometer north of the southern (main)
entrance to the Stronghold and Blackhawk Presbytery
and camp. Elevation about 679-692 feet. Alluvial soils.
Mesic upland forest in transition to mesic floodplain
forest. Occasional climbing herbaceous annual vine,
about 2-3 meters long, flowers pale cream-green,
male erect in spike; female erect in axils.
