ca. 0.2 mi W of US Rt. 27 on Rt. 62, NW of Wartburg.
Creek crossing, moist soil, rich cove-like woodland.
Cumberland plateau floristic province. Tepals and
ovary maroon, anthers white; petal base often white
inside. Locally frequent near stream.
