Habitat
In mesic, montane forest of Thuja plicata-Tsuga mertensiana-Pseudotsuga menziesii with carpets of Hylocomium splendens-Ptilium crista-castrensis. With Tortula ruralis abundant. On exposed earth of trail banks and on calcareous outcrops.
