Elevation 5,400 ft.
Grassy meadow with Carex aurea, Carex spp., Sisyrinchium,
Amelanchier utahensis, Juncus, Dodecatheon jeffreyi,
Potentilla breweri, Mimulus primuloides, Darlington
califonica, Menyanthes trifoliata. Surrounding mixed conifer
forest with Pinus jeffreyi, P. ponderosa, P. monticola,
Calocedrus decurrens, Abies concolor, A. magnifica, also
Xerophyllum tenax, Arcostaphylos. Abundant dense shrub to
1.8 m tall with spreading branches, none ever truly erect.
Plants just coming into flower. Most shrubs not yet flowering.
Leaves evergreen, grey-green, a bit greyer on abaxial surface.
