Abundant among young vegetation including saplings of Betula neoalaskana,
Ainus viridis, Populus tremuloides, Salix bebbiana, Populus balsamifera and
Picea glauca. Associated herbs and small shrubs include: Taraxacum
officinale, Hedysarum alpinum, Potentilla norvegica, Shepherdia canadensis,
Cornus canadensis, Arnica angustifolia, Equisetum pratense, Hierochloe
odorata, Linnaea borealis, Arctostaphylos uva-ursi, Antennaria rosea,
Achillea millefolium, Lupinus arcticus, Galium boreale, Bromus inermis,
Solidago decumbens and Rubus idaeus.
