Gray Family: Acanthaceae Arizona, Cochise County; San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area, Upper San Pedro River floodplain; St. David site ~2 miles south of Curtiss Flat Rd., several hundred meters east of San Pedro, N 31° 49.114’ ,W 110° 12.836' 3645 ft., Habitat: growing in old irrigation ditch adjacent mesquite bosque. Associated spp: Prosopis velutina, Baccharis emoryi, B. salicifolia, Sorghum halapense, Acacia greggii, Rhus microphylla, Sambucus nigra cerulea, Juglans major, Ziziphus obtusifolia, Atriplex canescens.
