Habitat an uneven limestone bottom partially sand-covered and occupied by eel-grass to a depth of about 3-5 ft., with deeper pools in the limestone floor not occupied by eel-grasses; partially protected by exposed or barely submerged off-shore reefs from wave action except during storms; actual beach steeply inclined, of constantly shifting sand.
