    Campo cerrado (a type of scrubby woodland originally) on upland, or very rarely forest. open marsh or dense secondary forest "mata" along the streams. This habitat: dryish soil, open transition area between cerrado & marsh. 10 m. from no. 1743 & part of same cont. population.

  • Description

    Shrub 0.5 m. tall. Petals rose-violet with red spot at base of each. Anthers red, filaments & style lt. green, Similar to no. 1743 but with larger leaves. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
