SOCORRO CO., ca. 5 mi. N of Riley, SE 1/4
Sec. 1, T2N, R4W, gypsum, eroded hills,
with juniper, creosotebush, Ceratoides,
Dalea formosa, Quercus turbinella on
surrounding hills, the gypsum mostly barren
except for Mentzelia; elev. 6000 ft.
Petals yellow; strong correlation between
gypsum and entire- or nearly entire-leaved
plants, and off gypsum with lobed-leaved-
plants; this collection from gypsum.
