  • Habitat

    close to a forestry road in a high montane forest with Picea abies, Larix decidua, and Pinus cembra. on strongly inclined faces of a siliceous boulder (very shady conditions).

  • Description

    TLC (Obermayer556/02; specimen in GZU tested): Atranorin (min.), chloroatranorin (min.), salazinic acid (maj.), consalazinic acid (maj.), galbinic acid (tr.), lobaric acid (min.), thamnolic acid (min.; ?contamination) no fatty acids. - The thalli of the issued specimens are strongly elongated, have down-rolled margins, and show isidia which are partly coralloid branched (soredia-like structures, which are typical for Parmelia submontana, are not developed). Pseudocyphellae are mostly confined to the marginal area of the lobes forming a white rim.
