savanna and along creekside. 516 m. 5°42'33.6"N 60°18'7.6"W.
Savanna. Dimorphandra, Rubiaceae, Melastomataceae abundant,
Rapataceae, bromeliads, Poaceae, Cyperaceae. Small shrub to lm.
Leaves coriaceous, alternate. Fruit red, ca 1cm wide. Axillary fascicles
on older leafless nodes, seed with white aril. Silica sample.
