46'N, 84 deg. 47'W. Mesic upland beech-maple forest; 0.8
mi S Gilpin Point. Humus over mostly calcareous
glacial till and limestone. Flowers dark lilac, spur
paler, elongated, anthers orange. Rather common
delicate perennial.
