    Slightly disturbed forest with discontinuous canopy to @ 17m, emergents to 25m. Gently undulating terrain. Some areas dominated by large, climbing bamboo ("taboca").

    herb. Cultivated coarse herb 30 cm, inflorescence bracts green, stamens white, rest of flowers green. When crushed giving an odor of petroleum. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
