Cooperstown 7.5 min. quad., T. 1 S., R. 1 W., SE/4, NW/4, sect. 20. IL Dept, of Transportation Wetland Mitigation Site (former Wessel property); S of La Moine River, W of Illinois River and Big Lake, ca. 4.2 mi due E of Cooperstown. E side of La Grange road, N side of levee on property line. Elev. 435-450 ft. Alluvial soils, silts, loams, clays just E of sandstone outcrops. Floodplain, cleared meadows, floodplain forest remnants, intermittent ponds, adjoining cropland. Locally common erect annual herb with green fruits. At margins of dried pool. Steven R.
