Yucca baccata Torrey
SAN JUAN COUNTY. Manti-La Sal National Forest,
just east of Dark Canyon, 5.7 miles east of FSR 88 along
FSR 92 (road to Blanding), in vicinity of 37° 40.620’ N
and 109° 42.039’ W, 7800 feet, 2377 meters.
Roadcut slope, in red shaley soil, with Juniperus,
Melilotus officinalis, Hymenoxys, Pinus edulis, Quercus
gambelii, Streptanthus cordatus, Ephedra viridis,
Penstemon comarrhenus, Yucca baccata, Lomatium
parryi, Allium, Mirabilis multiflora. Frequent on and
above slope, acaulescent, leaves falcate, yellow-green but
not glaucous, offsetting with 4 plants, with flowering
stalk 1/2 m tall, flowers cream-white.
