Mexico. Jalisco. Steep mountains 11-12 miles S of Talpa de Allende, in the headwaters of a west branch of Río de Talpa.

Habitat
Among rocks, with oaks, near summits, barranca above a rapid clear stream in dense forest of Quercus, Capinus, Distylium, Magnolia, Podocarpus, with pine forest on the ridges above. Locally abundant.
