Between Mud Flat and Bennet Spring on the Newville-Covelo
road, in the Coast Range, elevation about 2500 feet on a northerly
slope in open gravelly places. In the digger pine belt, but the
chaparral growth predominating, consisting of Adenostoma, Tox-
icodendron, Quercus dumosa and Heteromeles.
